Road traffic congestion causes serious social issues such as time losses and environmental-burdens. For the mitigation of the road congestion, it is necessary to implement, according to the regional situation, an appropriate combination of expansion of road capacity, development of public transportation and the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) that encourages vehicle users to modify their travel behavior.
Our current focuses are ring roads, public transportation and transport demand management. We collect information on domestic and overseas cases of those, to create the implementation manual that enables a region to formulate an optimum strategy.
